About this product
Description
Every growth spurt, every sports session, every school day — a child’s skeleton is constantly being built. Calcium and magnesium form the mineral matrix of bone. Vitamin D3 is necessary for the normal growth and development of bone in children and controls how calcium is absorbed and deposited. Vitamin K2 (MK-7) directs calcium to the bones rather than soft tissue. These four nutrients are designed to work together, and this formula provides all of them in a single daily sachet.
Each sachet also provides zinc for immune function and cognitive function, vitamin C for normal collagen formation in bone and cartilage, magnesium for muscle function and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, and L-lysine as an essential amino acid involved in protein and collagen synthesis. The result is a complete, transparent formula built around the specific nutritional needs of growing children — in amounts aligned with European reference intake values, with nothing hidden and nothing exaggerated.

Why Liquid Sachets Instead of Tablets or Gummies?
Most children’s calcium supplements come as chewable tablets, gummy bears, or large capsules. While some children accept these readily, chewable formats require binders, bulking agents, and often sweeteners to mask the mineral taste. Gummy formats can contain significant amounts of added sugar per serving, and large calcium tablets are frequently difficult for younger children to swallow.
A liquid sachet format eliminates all of these issues. There are no binders or bulking agents required. The formula is naturally flavoured with orange and contains no added sugars. For children aged 3–6 who cannot swallow tablets or resist chewable supplements, a liquid sachet removes the format barrier entirely.
The 10ml sachet format also means a precise, pre-measured dose every time — no measuring spoons, no risk of over or under-dosing. One sachet per day for ages 3–6, two sachets per day from age 7, morning or evening, pure or mixed with water or juice.
Why Active Vitamin Forms?
The vitamin forms in a supplement determine how readily the body can use them. This formula uses:
Natural vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) — the same form the body produces through sunlight exposure. Cholecalciferol is more effective at raising serum vitamin D levels than D2 (ergocalciferol). At 400 IU (10µg) per sachet, this dose provides meaningful nutritional support for children in Northern and Central Europe where sunlight is insufficient for most of the year.
Natural vitamin K2 (MK-7 form) — the long-chain menaquinone. MK-7 has a significantly longer half-life in the body than K1 (phylloquinone), providing sustained activity for bone mineralisation. K2 works in partnership with vitamin D3 to direct calcium toward bones rather than soft tissues — which is why both are included in this formula.
Calcium citrate — chosen over calcium carbonate for its superior solubility in a liquid format and its absorption profile, which is not dependent on stomach acid levels. This makes it more appropriate for children.
Magnesium citrate — selected for its favourable solubility and absorption in liquid supplements compared to magnesium oxide, which is commonly used in lower-cost formats.
Every mineral and vitamin is included at a dose aligned with European reference intake values for children aged 3–12 — not adult doses scaled down, but amounts calibrated for growing children.
What Does EFSA-Approved Mean for This Product?
The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) is the EU body responsible for evaluating the scientific evidence behind health claims on food and supplement products. Under Regulation (EC) No 1924/2006, only claims that have passed EFSA’s scientific review may appear on supplement packaging and product pages sold in Europe.
Every health claim on this page — from “vitamin D is necessary for the normal growth and development of bone in children” to “magnesium contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue” — appears on the EU Register of authorised nutrition and health claims. Fisher Kinder uses only approved EFSA claims on all its products.
No claim on this page is exaggerated, implied, or based on unpublished research. No claim describes a treatment, a cure, or a therapeutic effect. Every statement is backed by reviewed scientific evidence and authorised under EU law.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does my child need a calcium supplement if they eat dairy?
Dairy is the primary dietary source of calcium for most children in Europe, and an adequate intake from food is always preferable to supplementation. However, children who avoid dairy — due to lactose intolerance, milk allergy, or dietary preference — frequently do not meet the European reference intake of 800mg calcium per day from food alone. Even in dairy-consuming children, magnesium and vitamin D insufficiency is common.
This formula is designed to complement the diet, not replace dairy. At 250mg calcium per sachet, it contributes meaningfully to daily intake without exceeding safe upper limits.
Why does this formula include vitamin D3 at 200% of the reference intake?
Vitamin D is unique because the body produces it primarily through sunlight, not food. In Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and most of Northern and Central Europe, sunlight exposure is insufficient for adequate vitamin D synthesis for most of the year — particularly for children who spend significant time indoors.
The 10µg (400 IU) dose in this formula is within the safe upper intake level established by EFSA for children and is consistent with supplementation guidance from Belgian and Dutch health authorities, who recommend vitamin D supplementation for children throughout the year.
What is the difference between vitamin K1 and vitamin K2 (MK-7)?
Vitamin K1 (phylloquinone) is primarily involved in normal blood clotting and is found in green leafy vegetables. Vitamin K2, particularly in the MK-7 form, has a significantly longer half-life in the body and is more effective at activating proteins involved in bone mineralisation — directing calcium into bones rather than soft tissues.
This formula uses natural K2 in the MK-7 form specifically for its activity in bone structure, working in partnership with the vitamin D3 also included in the formula.
Why is L-lysine included in this formula?
L-lysine is an essential amino acid — meaning the body cannot produce it and it must come from diet or supplementation. It plays a structural role in collagen synthesis, which forms the protein framework of bone before mineralisation occurs.
L-lysine is included as a nutritional complement to the mineral and vitamin components of this formula. Note: L-lysine does not carry a specific EFSA-approved health claim and no therapeutic benefit is implied.
Does this product contain sugar?
No added sugars. The sachet is naturally flavoured with orange and has a smooth milk-like texture achieved without sucrose, glucose syrup, or artificial sweeteners.
Parents concerned about sugar intake can use this formula without adding to their child’s daily sugar load.
Can I give this alongside Fisher Kinder Multivitamins?
Yes, with one consideration. The Multivitamins formula contains vitamins D and K at lower doses than this Calcium formula. If using both together, the combined vitamin D intake from both products should be checked against the EFSA safe upper intake level for your child’s age group.
The calcium, magnesium and zinc in this formula are not present in the Multivitamins, so there is no overlap for those minerals. For most children using both products, the combined intake remains within safe ranges, but if in doubt consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Is this product safe for children taking medication?
This formula contains vitamin K2. Vitamin K interacts with coumarin-based anticoagulant medications (blood thinners such as warfarin). This product is not suitable for children taking anticoagulant medication. For children taking any other regular medication, consult your doctor or pharmacist before use. This product is not a medicine and does not treat or prevent any condition.
Is this product registered with health authorities?
